Haven't blogged for a day or so because I've been working and nothing that interesting has happened but last night we went out to The Cambie for a couple of beers. The Cambie is the bar part of a hostel. It was on the fringes of a rough part of town so it was kinda shabby but because of the whole 'traveller' aspect of it it was pretty cool and we got speaking to some people from the east coast of Canada an some other guys from Galway. We said we might see them back there over the weekend. It's about time we made some friends anyway really.
Today I had a day off so I went to get my haircut out in the union of UBC. It took 2 buses to get there but the guy who cut my hair had all the chat an had lived in London for 3 years so we had some conversation. My haircut wasn't too bad either. I'm back to my Kings of Leon do. On the way out to UBC the bus driver gave an update on the weather; he said it's going to be freezing this weekend. On the way back home the bus came but was really busy so a bunch of us didn't get to go on it and there was an out of service one just behind it an the guy pulled up an was like "I'm out of service but I noticed you guys got left behind there" and let us all on! Bus driver's are so nice here. Edinburgh bus drivers are so angry all the time. It's awesome.
Then I came home and gave Steve a virtual tour of our house via the webcam, so if any of you skypers want one let me know and I'll see if I can fit you in!
After that Greg started the epic task of making a chicken pie. It took him around 2 hours to get there but the end results was pretty fantastic and I'm now all full of homely foods. Now if only I could get my room warm I'd be so settled. It's so cold in here! I bought a new hairdryer though since my UK one is so weak on Canadian voltage. A few blasts of that should warm the place up for a few minutes.
I have to go to work tomorrow and then on Friday I'm in at 8.30am!! I'm gonna have to get up at 6.30! Uncool. I get Saturday and Sunday off though so we're thinking of going for a meal and a few drinks on one of those nights which should be cool. I think I'd prefer to work the later shift from 3.30-9 or 10 since that gives me the morning to hang around and get organised slowly. I might see if that's going to be possible.
I haven't really taken any interesting photos recently but I have a few from the past few days so I'll put them up for your viewing pleasure. I'll try and find some good things to photograph over the weekend. Think we might try and get a Christmas tree so that should make some good snapping!!
